On November 21, Zhongqing Xinneng's hydrogen-powered two-wheeler, "Panda Shuttle," officially entered mass production and delivery, with the first batch of new vehicles dispatched from Beijing and successfully delivered to users for operation. This critical period marks Zhongqing Xinneng's breakthrough in the industrialisation of technology within the short-distance hydrogen transportation sector, and the official launch of its strategy to scale and market its deployment across provinces and cities nationwide, which is expected to inject new momentum into urban green travel.
As an innovative benchmark in the hydrogen mobility sector, the "Panda Shuttle" addresses five core industry pain points—safety hazards, inefficient refueling, limited performance, environmental pressures, and high costs—with robust technology:
High Safety, Worry-Free Riding: Breaking the stereotype of hydrogen being "explosive" and the risks of lithium battery thermal runaway, it features solid-state hydrogen storage technology and metal hydride materials that securely "lock" hydrogen at room temperature and low pressure with zero leakage, ensuring maximum safety in extreme scenarios and making hydrogen travel safer than electric.
Fast Refueling, Efficient and Convenient: Overcoming the scarcity of hydrogen refueling stations and long charging times, it pioneers a modular quick-swap design that eliminates reliance on professional stations; hydrogen storage modules allow "swap-and-go" refueling, with batch refueling taking only 30 minutes, far exceeding the efficiency of traditional EV fast charging.
Strong Performance, Scenario Adaptability: It demonstrates outstanding environmental adaptability, capable of handling high and low temperatures and diverse road conditions; a 0.6L hydrogen storage cylinder enables a long driving range of 60-80 km, eliminating range anxiety; with an auto body weight of just 55 kg, its lightweight design balances maneuverability and riding comfort, suitable for daily commutes and short-distance shuttles.
Greenification, Zero-Carbon Closed Loop: Addressing lithium battery recycling pollution and carbon emissions from traditional travel, it emits only pure water during operation, aligning with the "dual-carbon" strategy; operating noise is ≤55 dB, practicing environmental protection from use to recycling, and creating a new zero-carbon travel option.
Low Cost, Long-Term Economy: Dispelling the perception of high costs in hydrogen travel, the hydrogen storage module achieves over 3,000 charge-discharge cycles with less than 5% degradation, avoiding hidden costs of lithium battery decay; it requires no high maintenance fees, with per-trip costs on par with or lower than charging vehicles, offering significant long-term cost-effectiveness.
Notably, Zhongqing Xinneng's innovative service model spans the entire delivery process: pre-delivery platform pressure testing, hardware-software compatibility validation, and collaborative management optimization, along with post-delivery lifetime tracking services to comprehensively safeguard the user experience.
The "Proposal of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China on Formulating the 15th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development," released on October 28, explicitly identifies hydrogen energy as a core future industry, driving it to become a new economic growth point. This delivery marks a significant starting point for Zhongqing Xinneng's nationwide expansion. Moving forward, the company will leverage the momentum of China's national hydrogen energy industry strategy, focusing on key scenarios such as commuter transport in first- and second-tier cities, short-distance shuttle services in scenic areas, and shared mobility. It will gradually advance the establishment of operational networks in various provinces and cities, while simultaneously improving the layout of hydrogen storage module exchange stations and supporting the industry chain.
In the future, Zhongqing Xinneng will continue to iterate its technology and enhance the quality of urban hydrogen energy operations, bringing safe, convenient, and zero-carbon hydrogen mobility services to more cities. This will contribute to building a sustainable new ecosystem for short-distance transportation and write a remarkable chapter in the field of short-distance mobility, supporting the high-quality development of China's hydrogen energy industry.
