






Recently, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council issued the "Catalogue of Scientific and Technological Innovation Achievements of Central State-owned Enterprises (2024 Edition)". The "Megawatt-scale Iridium Oxide Catalyst for PEM Electrolysis Hydrogen Production Equipment", independently developed by Guohydrogen Technology, was successfully included in the catalogue, fully demonstrating Guohydrogen Technology's scientific and technological innovation strength in the hydrogen energy field.
This achievement marks the first large-scale independent production of key materials for PEM hydrogen production in China, successfully breaking the foreign technological monopoly. In terms of performance and cost, its processing fee has been reduced to one-sixth of the import price, while its durability has doubled, with overall indicators significantly superior to similar competing products domestically and overseas. Currently, this catalyst has been granted 4 invention patents, highlighting its strong technical barriers and innovation value.
Regarding industrialisation application, this iridium oxide catalyst has already achieved supporting application in over 60MW of electrolysers and has been successfully implemented in benchmark projects such as the Jilin Da'an Integrated Wind and Solar Power Green Hydrogen and Ammonia Synthesis Demonstration Project. This fully verifies its reliability and applicability in large-scale green hydrogen production scenarios, laying a key material foundation for the localisation and large-scale promotion of PEM hydrogen production equipment.
As a key breakthrough in core "chokepoint" materials for the hydrogen energy industry, this achievement plays a vital supporting role in safeguarding national energy security, implementing the "Dual Carbon" goals, and fostering new quality productive forces. In the future, Guohydrogen Technology will continue to deepen the iteration of PEM hydrogen production materials and equipment technology, expand application scenarios, and promote the deep penetration of green hydrogen in industries, transportation, ESS, and other fields. Leveraging the central state-owned enterprise innovation system, it will accelerate the transformation of key achievements, build a self-controlled and secure hydrogen energy industry chain ecosystem, and inject strong momentum into the high-quality development of the hydrogen energy industry.
