On November 21, the signing ceremony for the Paka Green Hydrogen Integrated Project in Terengganu, Malaysia was successfully held. Jiangsu Guofu Hydrogen Energy Technology and Equipment Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Guofu Hydrogen") and Nova RE Suria Sdn Bhd (NRSSB) formally signed the agreement, initiating in-depth collaboration between the two parties in the field of hydrogen energy. Multiple cooperative entities jointly injected momentum into the construction of the regional green hydrogen industry ecosystem.
This signing event brought together multiple cooperative entities, including UAE's Bin Zayed International (BZIM), and China Energy Engineering Group International Cooperation Co., Ltd. jointly with Jiangsu Design Institute. Guofu Hydrogen and NRSSB will engage in deep linkage focusing on the green hydrogen offtake segment, while coordinating with the project owner and relevant partners to advance project implementation. Through the integration of multi-party resources and complementary advantages, they will jointly promote the project from the planning stage to the substantive construction phase.
Located in Terengganu, Malaysia, this project is one of the first large-scale green hydrogen flagship projects locally. It deeply aligns with Malaysia's national energy strategy and its "Net-Zero Carbon Emissions by 2050" vision, and is also a core component of the regional green energy complex. The project is planned to be developed in phases, involving the construction of a 200-megawatt (MW) hydrogen production plant. At full capacity, it is expected to produce nearly 30,000 metric tons of green hydrogen annually. The project is positioned with a dual function of "local offtake + global distribution," capable of supplying both Malaysia's domestic industrial demand and exporting to the international market, giving it significant scale and positioning advantages among Malaysian green hydrogen projects.
Guofu Hydrogen undertakes core offtake responsibilities in this cooperation: on one hand, it will handle the green hydrogen distribution business for the project, efficiently transporting green hydrogen to key markets in Southeast and East Asia, while also participating in building the global offtake network for green hydrogen derivatives such as green ammonia and green methanol; on the other hand, it will provide comprehensive equipment and technical solution support for the project's hydrogen transportation segment, leveraging its full-chain capabilities in "production, storage, transportation, refueling, and application" to solidify logistics support. This offtake cooperation also lays the foundation for deeper collaboration in equipment supply subsequently. As the project progresses, Guofu Hydrogen can leverage its technical expertise to participate in related equipment cooperation, further enhancing the project's technical support system.
As a Chinese enterprise that entered the Southeast Asian hydrogen market relatively early, Guofu Hydrogen has previously implemented green hydrogen refueling and liquid hydrogen demonstration projects in Singapore and Malaysia. This signing marks the company's hydrogen strategy officially transitioning from "single-point pilot projects" to a new stage characterized by "scaled offtake + derivative expansion + ecosystem collaboration."In the future, Guofu Hydrogen Energy will leverage its technological accumulation across the entire industry chain to ensure efficient distribution of green hydrogen while providing key liquid hydrogen storage and transportation equipment as needed. This will help establish a seamless link between "production, storage, transportation, and consumption," enabling the company to further deepen its presence in the Southeast Asian hydrogen market, enhance the regional hydrogen ecosystem, and contribute hydrogen energy solutions to the global transition toward zero carbon.
