Recently, the hydrogen liquefaction station project, part of the "Integrated Generation-Grid-Load-Storage" Key Technology Research and Demonstration – "Production-Storage-Transportation-Refueling" Hydrogen Energy Comprehensive Demonstration by China Three Gorges Corporation (hereinafter referred to as "CTGC"), successfully produced liquid hydrogen.
The project at CTGC's Ulanqab "Integrated Generation-Grid-Load-Storage" Test Base was constructed by China Aerospace. On September 13, 2025, the hydrogen liquefaction station started up successfully in a single attempt, stably producing liquid hydrogen, with a system production capacity of 0.3 mt/day under rated conditions and a para-hydrogen content of 98%. On October 21, 2025, the Green Hydrogen Technology and Application Innovation Center of the CTGC Science and Technology Research Institute organized experts to conduct an acceptance review of this hydrogen liquefaction system at the CTGC Ulanqab Generation-Grid-Load-Storage Technology R&D Test Base, which passed the expert review. The project is expected to have an annual liquid hydrogen production capacity of 100 mt.
During project execution, organizations and leaders at all levels, including the Sixth Academy of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, the Beijing Institute of Aerospace Testing Technology, and Aerospace Hydrogen Energy Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Aerospace Hydrogen Energy"), as well as the CTGC Science and Technology Research Institute, attached great importance to and strongly supported the project, providing a solid guarantee for its steady progress. The successful completion of the project commissioning is not only the result of the unremitting efforts of both the Aerospace and CTGC teams but also demonstrates the responsibility and commitment of large central state-owned enterprises in actively responding to the national energy strategy and promoting green, low-carbon development.
Aerospace Hydrogen Energy consistently upholds the concept of open collaboration, actively engages with upstream and downstream enterprises in the hydrogen energy industry chain to deepen cooperation, and continuously promotes the industrial application of advanced technologies from R&D to end-use applications. In the future, the company will remain firmly committed to the hydrogen energy sector, focusing on technological innovation as the core driving force and high-quality industrial development as the fundamental direction, injecting strong momentum into accelerating the upgrade of China's hydrogen energy industry and strengthening the foundation of the green energy system.
