Indonesian Government Includes Rupiah Redenomination Plan in Finance Ministry's 2025 - 2029 Strategic Plan

[SMM Aluminum Express News] The Indonesian government has formally included the Rupiah redenomination plan in the Regulation of the Minister of Finance (PMK) No. 70/2025 concerning the 2025-2029 Strategic Plan of the Ministry of Finance, enacted on October 10, 2025. The target is to complete the deliberation of the Rupiah Redenomination Bill within two years, by 2027. The bill, a government initiative proposed by Bank Indonesia, is now part of the 2025-2029 National Legislative Program (Prolegnas). Going forward, Bank Indonesia, the Government, and the House of Representatives (DPR) will continue discussions on the redenomination process.
