On November 7, some projects were suspended due to a sudden drop in temperature, but the Datang Duolun 150,000 kW Wind and Solar Power Hydrogen Production Integrated Technology Demonstration Project continued to advance. The green hydrogen produced by alkaline water electrolysis in the project is fully sent to the Duolun Coal Chemical Plant after buffering and pressurization, replacing the original coal-based gray hydrogen for methanol production. Full-load commissioning is currently underway in an orderly manner.
Inside the hydrogen production plant, technical personnel conduct daily inspections. The 13 electrolyzers in the plant area have achieved full-load commissioning, laying a foundation for the stable operation of the project.
On the large screen of the project's smart operations cockpit in the enterprise's central control room, various data are displayed in real time and operating smoothly. The project's self-developed integrated energy management system was included in the national fifth batch of major energy technology equipment (first set) public list and the 2025 National Green Technology Innovation Cases in August this year, and was included in the national hydrogen energy pilot project (first batch) public list in October, with its technical strength recognized at the national level.
To date, the project's green hydrogen unit has operated continuously for over 5,000 hours, producing over 18 million standard cubic meters of qualified high-purity green hydrogen, coupling with coal chemical production to yield 7,563 mt of methanol, and achieving a CO2 emission reduction of over 35,400 mt, demonstrating significant results in green energy production and carbon reduction.
The project is currently in the full-load commissioning stage. The team is strengthening the foundation for safe and efficient operation through precise regulation, deepening technological innovation, and optimizing operational management modes, in preparation for full production. In the next step, the project will explore deep coupling of green hydrogen with traditional coal chemical processes, reduce the cost of green hydrogen production, and provide replicable engineering practical experience for China's energy transition.
