Tracking Green Hydrogen Projects—Xilin Gol League Green Hydrogen-Ammonia-Methanol Industrial Cluster Promotion Conference Held in Xilin Hot City

On November 3, the promotion conference for the green hydrogen, ammonia, and methanol industrial cluster in Xilin Gol League was held in Xilinhot City under the theme "Green Hydrogen Chain, Xilin Leads the Future." The event attracted over 200 upstream and downstream enterprises from across the country, with nearly 400 guests gathering to discuss the development of the green hydrogen, ammonia, and methanol industry. The conference was hosted by the Administrative Office of Xilin Gol League in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and the China Industrial Development Promotion Association, and organized by the Xilin Gol League Energy Bureau, the People's Government of West Ujimqin Banner, and the Hydrogen Energy Branch of the China Industrial Development Promotion Association.

At the conference, leaders from the Xilinhot Municipal Government, West Ujimqin Banner, and Duolun County delivered special presentations on the green hydrogen, ammonia, and methanol industrial cluster, comprehensively showcasing local industrial development potential and plans. Subsequently, the Xilin Gol League Administrative Office reached strategic cooperation agreements with Guodian Power Development Co., Ltd., Huadian Inner Mongolia Energy Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Chenfeng Technology Company, and CR Power East Inner Mongolia Company. At the same time, a number of key cooperative projects were successfully signed, including the 1 million kW wind power hydrogen production and ammonia synthesis integration project, the CGNPC West Ujimqin Banner 400,000 kW wind and solar power hydrogen and ammonia integration project, and the Duolun County-Hexigten Banner green hydrogen pipeline project (Xilin Gol League section), injecting strong momentum into the development of the industrial cluster.

Xilin Gol League Chief Guo Yufeng stated that the region possesses significant advantages such as abundant wind and solar resources, a unique geographical location, and broad market prospects. It is currently making every effort to cultivate and expand industrial clusters for green electricity hydrogen production, green ammonia, and green methanol, while simultaneously developing new business formats such as equipment manufacturing and supporting services. He sincerely invited relevant industry enterprises to invest and share development opportunities.

It is reported that Xilin Gol League has achieved multiple breakthroughs in the field of green hydrogen, ammonia, and methanol: the league has approved five wind and solar power hydrogen production integration projects; the Duolun Datang 150,000 kW wind and solar power off-grid hydrogen production deep integration with coal chemical technology demonstration project—the first medium to large-scale project of its kind in China—is operating stably; the Shengli No. 1 Mine has taken the lead in applying the country's first mt-level hydrogen energy mining vehicle; the nation's first natural hydrogen scientific exploration well has commenced drilling smoothly in Xilinhot; and Envision Group's hydrogen energy equipment production site is accelerating its construction.

As a signing representative, Zhe Bo, Secretary of the Party Committee of Inner Mongolia Huadian Xilinhot New Energy Co., Ltd., stated that the company is highly confident in the industrial development prospects of Xilin Gol League. It will closely align with the local development blueprint, leverage its own experience, and create demonstration projects integrating green power development, hydrogen production, storage, transportation, and utilization. Additionally, during the conference, Xilin Gol League presented letters of appointment as hydrogen energy industry development advisors to six experts, including Wei Suo, Vice President of the China Industrial Development Promotion Association and President of its Hydrogen Energy Branch, providing intellectual support for the industry's development.

Liang Zhipeng, former Deputy Director of the Department of New Energy and Renewable Energy and the Department of Legal System and Structural Reform at the National Energy Administration, pointed out that Xilingol League is one of the regions in China with the richest and highest-quality wind energy resources. He suggested that the government coordinate the integrated development of wind power, PV, and green hydrogen, and promote the transformation of green resource advantages into economic development advantages.
