Recently, the "150kW Fuel Cell Engine" project developed by Tianjin Rockcheck Hydrogen Power Technology Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Rockcheck New Energy Group, passed the scientific and technological achievement appraisal. After evaluation by experts in the hydrogen energy and automotive fields, its overall performance has reached the domestic leading level, meeting the conditions for large-scale industrialisation and promotion.
This engine has overcome industry bottlenecks such as extreme cold starting and long-life operation: it innovatively achieves rapid start at -30°C without auxiliary heating, making it suitable for all-weather operation in northern regions; after optimising stack design and material formulations, the system's lifespan reaches 24,285 hours, far exceeding the industry average. Currently, this engine has been installed in Rockcheck Hydrogen-powered heavy-duty trucks, with the first batch of 200 units delivered to the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei and Bohai Rim regions, and put into use for inter-provincial trunk logistics and the transportation of bulk materials such as steel and port cargo.
Actual operation data shows that the hydrogen-powered heavy-duty trucks equipped with this system have ample power for full-load climbing, with hydrogen consumption as low as 8kg per 100 kilometers, refueling takes only 10-15 minutes, and operational efficiency is comparable to traditional diesel heavy-duty trucks; moreover, they achieve zero tailpipe emissions, with a single vehicle reducing carbon emissions by over 100 metric tons per year, highlighting the dual advantages of "high efficiency + environmental protection" in heavy-duty scenarios. This breakthrough is a significant milestone in Rockcheck New Energy's entire industry chain layout for hydrogen energy and will help accelerate the industrialisation of hydrogen energy commercial vehicles in China.
