On October 29, 2025, SPIC Jilin Electric Power Co., Ltd.'s Jilin Da'an Integrated Wind and Solar Power to Green Hydrogen and Ammonia Demonstration Project (Phase I) obtained the world's first "Non-Biological Origin Renewable Fuel Ammonia" certification issued by the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification System (ISCC EU).
The "green ammonia" produced by this project derives its energy from renewable sources such as wind and solar power, and is produced through the industrial process of "wind and solar power generation - hydrogen production via water electrolysis - ammonia synthesis," clearly distinguishing it from the traditional biomass-based ammonia production pathway. As a national clean and low-carbon hydrogen energy demonstration project, its Phase I 180,000 mt/year ammonia synthesis unit is the world's largest in terms of monomer scale. It innovatively applies "electricity-hydrogen-ammonia" flexible control technology, solving the challenge of matching the volatility of renewable energy with the stability requirements of chemical production.
This certification opens up global market access for the "green ammonia" from the Da'an project. Currently, the project has reached intent procurement cooperation agreements with several energy enterprises in Europe, Japan and South Korea. SPIC's green hydrogen-based energy brand, "Hydrogen Hyglobal," has officially commenced its international layout. Industry experts stated that this achievement not only represents a breakthrough for a single project but also signifies international recognition of China's green hydrogen industry chain, providing a pioneering example for the standardized development of the global hydrogen energy industry.
