Recently, the Shenzhen Energy Ordos Banner Wind-Solar-Hydrogen Integration Green Ammonia Synthesis Project witnessed a wave of electrolyzer deliveries. Two enterprises, Sany Hydrogen and CRRC Zhuzhou Institute, successively announced the successful completion of deliveries totaling 24 electrolyzers, laying a critical equipment foundation for the project's advancement.
Sany Hydrogen completed its delivery on October 28, supplying 12 units of 1,000 Nm³/h electrolyzers and 3 sets of 4,000 Nm³/h separation systems for the project. The first 1,000 Nm³/h alkaline electrolyzer was successfully dispatched on August 21, 2025. The delivered equipment features an optimized flow field structure, zero-gap design, and is equipped with high-performance electrodes and separators, offering core advantages of safety, reliability, and low energy consumption.
CRRC Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive Research Institute Co., Ltd. (CRRC Zhuzhou Institute) concurrently delivered 12 units of 1,000 Nm³/h electrolyzers and 3 sets of matching separation systems to the project. Its new-generation electrolyzer achieved multiple original breakthroughs in fundamental materials, structural design, manufacturing processes, and system control, providing solid guarantees for the project's stable operation with four major advantages: "high safety, high efficiency, strong adaptability, and high intelligence."
Located in Qipanjing Town, Ordos Banner, Ordos City, the Shenzhen Energy Ordos Banner project has a total investment of 3.8 billion yuan. It is China's first demonstration project to achieve closed-loop operation of the entire chain from "wind and solar power generation - green hydrogen production - hydrogen storage - hydrogen power generation - chemical synthesis," breaking the limitations of "single-point application" in the hydrogen energy industry. Key project parameters are as follows: hydrogen production capacity reaches 48,000 Nm³/h, configured with 12 spherical hydrogen storage tanks each of 1,875 m³, supported by a 500 MW wind power + 5 MW PV off-grid power supply. The produced hydrogen is used in an annual production facility of 150,000 metric tons of synthetic ammonia, alongside a supporting 30 MW-class pure hydrogen gas turbine ESS project.
