[SMM US Fed Interest Rate Cut Expectations Update] US September CPI data showed a YoY increase of 3%, the highest level since January this year, but still below market expectations of 3.1%. Meanwhile, the core CPI MoM increase slowed to 0.2%, also falling short of market expectations. Notably, services sector inflation in September dropped to its lowest level since November 2021. Following the data release, the market has fully priced in expectations for the US Fed to cut interest rates twice within the remainder of the year, with each cut being 25 basis points. Additionally, the White House indicated that if the US government shuts down, October's inflation data may not be released as scheduled, a situation unprecedented in history.
