Accelera, a subsidiary of Cummins, delivered a 35-megawatt (MW) proton exchange membrane (PEM) electrolysis system to Linde Group's under-construction green hydrogen plant at Niagara Falls, New York.
The 10 Nm³/h hydrogen production equipment and 10 kW fuel cell combined heat and power system delivered by Guofu Hydrogen Energy to the Morocco Clean Hydrogen Center of Excellence were successfully shipped.
Peric Hydrogen Energy Technology Co., Ltd. (Handan), under the 718th Research Institute of China State Shipbuilding Corporation Limited, completed the final loading and shipment of ten 1000 Nm³/h electrolyzers (totaling 50 MW), officially departing from Lianyungang Port to Piraeus Port, Greece.
The 10,000 Nm³/h electrolyzer awarded in Sany Hydrogen Energy's Shenzhen Energy Ordos Wind-Solar Hydrogen Integration for Green Ammonia Synthesis Project was successfully shipped.
Thirteen sets of independently developed 1000 Nm³/h electrolyzers from CRRC Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive Research Institute Co., Ltd. were officially shipped and are being delivered successively for the Guohua Cangzhou "Green Port Hydrogen City" project.
The 50 Nm³/h water electrolysis product supplied by Guofu Hydrogen Energy for the TNB-PCSS green hydrogen demonstration project of Malaysia's national power grid has been successfully shipped to Shanghai Port.
Winshi Hydrogen Energy's AEM hydrogen production system was successfully shipped to Austria.
As of September 25, 2025, domestic enterprises (including overseas deliveries) delivered a total of 365.85 MW of alkaline electrolyzers in Q2 (data sourced from public information and SMM surveys).
Electrolyzer project updates:
Haijin (Zhangye) Biofuel Co., Ltd.:Haijin's annual 100,000 mt green bio-methanol project issued a subcontract procurement notice. The project is designed to produce 100,000 mt of green bio-methanol annually, simultaneously processing 430,000 mt of biomass waste (primarily cow manure), and is equipped to utilize 12,000 mt of green hydrogen and 600 million kWh of new energy electricity.
Jilin Huajin Energy Co., Ltd.:Entered into in-depth cooperation with McPhy Energy on the Jilin Yushu Project, Jilin Baicheng Project, and Liaoning Huludao Project.
CR New Energy (Laohekou) Co., Ltd.: CR Power Laohekou Hydrogen and Oxygen Production Technology R&D Project and Hydrogen Production System Laboratory Project announced the EPC contract bid winner, which is CRRC Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive Research Institute Co., Ltd.
CNNC Huineng Inner Mongolia Company:Announced the procurement results for electrolyzers and supporting materials for the Photovoltaic Power Generation for Hydrogen and Ammonia Production Multi-Steady-State Flexible System Equipment Construction Project. The preferred bid winner is Nantong Aisizhuo New Energy Co., Ltd.
Zhongke Yitan Energy Technology (Chifeng) Co., Ltd.:Zhongke Yitan Hexigten Banner Wind-Solar Hydrogen Production for Methanol and SAF Integration Project entered the filing stage. It will construct a 62,500 mt/year water electrolysis hydrogen production line, adopting internationally advanced alkaline electrolyzer (ALK) technology, equipped with core equipment such as gas-liquid separation and purification, achieving a hydrogen purity of ≥99.97% (meeting industrial-grade standards).
Zhongke Nengyuan Chemical (Gansu) Co., Ltd.:The Zhangye Green Fuel Zero-Carbon Industrial Park and 100,000 mt Green Methanol Project entered the first-phase construction stage.
Guoneng Hydrogen Innovation Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd.:Conducted a process package procurement for the Marine Hydrogen-Ammonia-Methanol Integration Project.
Xinjiang Hydrogen-based Energy Technology Co., Ltd.:Xinjiang Hydrogen-based Energy Technology's Shawan City project for an annual production of 100,000 mt of green hydrogen for 600,000 mt of green ammonia entered the environmental impact assessment stage.
Junrui Green Hydrogen Energy (Qingshuihe County) Co., Ltd.:The Qingshuihe County Wind-Solar Power Generation for Green Hydrogen Project entered the filing stage.
Policy Review
The first hydrogen energy standard for the energy industry, NB/T 11810-2025 "Code for Preparation of Renewable Energy Power-to-Hydrogen Project Planning Reports," compiled under the leadership of the China Renewable Energy Engineering Institute, was officially released and will take effect on December 30, 2025.
The European Commission approved a €4 billion electrolyzer special fund, providing a 30% equipment cost subsidy for projects with an annual capacity of ≥500 MW, and set a 2030 efficiency target for green hydrogen project electrolyzers of ≥60% (LHV basis).
The European Commission issued the "Clean Industrial Agreement National Aid Framework," with new regulations explicitly requiring member states to prioritize support for "Renewable Fuels of Non-Biological Origin" (RFNBOs), and ensuring public resources are directed toward low-carbon technologies through details such as fund allocation ratios and project timelines.

NEXTCHEM:NEXTCHEM, under MAIRE, signed a memorandum of understanding with Siemens Energy to jointly develop and commercialize a breakthrough high-temperature methanol fuel cell.
China Southern Power Grid Jiangmen Power Supply Bureau:In collaboration with Jiangmen State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, Jiangteng Power Group, and the academic team of Liu Xingjun from Kunming University of Science and Technology, the world's first movable zero-carbon hydrogen production and power generation device was officially launched at the 2025 China Hydrogen Energy Industry Conference.
Shanghai Qisheng Chuanghe Energy Technology Co., Ltd.:The world's first offshore thousand-cubic-level PEM electrolyzer and hydrogen production system, jointly developed by Shenergy Group, Shanghai Qichen New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., and its subsidiary Shanghai Qisheng Chuanghe Energy Technology Co., Ltd., has completed full-power testing.
Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd.:Selected for the anion exchange membrane electrolysis system and long-term field demonstration project by Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd. of Japan to accelerate AEM electrolysis systems.
ITM Power:Announced a new standardized 50 MW green hydrogen plant, with an "all-inclusive" price of €50 million, covering the entire plant including water purification, all electrolyzer skids, BOP, and control systems, but excluding specific on-site costs such as transportation, installation, and civil works.
Patent Applications
1. Shanghai Institute of Ceramics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (China) disclosed patent CN2025110028, developing a ceramic-based anion exchange membrane with a laboratory-tested lifespan of 80,000 hours.
2. Johnson Matthey (UK) filed patent WO2025109876, disclosing an Fe-Ni-Mo ternary non-precious metal catalyst formula with activity close to platinum-based materials.
Technology Footprints/Technical Specifications
1. China Association for Promoting Industrial Development (CAPID) officially released the group standard "Multi-Pulse Thyristor Rectifiers for Water Electrolysis Hydrogen Production" (Standard No. T/CAPID013—2025). This standard specifies the technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation, and storage of multi-pulse thyristor rectifiers for water electrolysis hydrogen production.
2. Hefei Zhongneng Dayou Energy Technology Co., Ltd. successfully developed a 100 kW-level PEM electrolyzer hydrogen production multi-field coupling test equipment.
3. GKN Powder Metallurgy announced the development of a new generation of high-performance, high-porosity, high-purity porous transport layers (HP-PTL) for proton exchange membrane (PEM) electrolysis.
4. The first 220 kW high-safety solid-state hydrogen storage fuel cell emergency power generation system was officially unveiled and put into application demonstration at the Microgrid Union Wi-Fi Smart Terminal Industrial Park. This achievement marks a major breakthrough in China's localization of core equipment in the hydrogen energy emergency power field.
5. Tongda Electromagnetic Energy Co., Ltd. independently developed and manufactured China's first off-grid medium-voltage DC 20 kV direct-hanging hydrogen production power supply (also known as "Hydrogen One") successfully applied.
6. Nel Hydrogen (Norway) launched the new-generation PEM electrolyzer HySyner500, with current density increased to 5 A/cm² and material cost per unit capacity reduced by 22%.
7. The offshore wind PEM hydrogen production and storage system delivered by Shanghai Qisheng Chuanghe Energy Technology Co., Ltd. successfully conducted real-sea trials at the Sanya Yazhou Bay offshore test site.
8. Hunan Longshen Hydrogen Energy Technology Co., Ltd. introduced a PEM water electrolysis sheet extrusion coater, significantly reducing the cost of expensive catalyst raw materials.
9. The kick-off meeting for the landmark project "Split Module-Type Seawater Direct Electrolysis Hydrogen Production Technology and System Equipment" under Guangdong Province's key R&D plan in the "New-Type Energy Storage and New Energy" field was grandly held at Shenzhen University.
