






On October 22, 2025, SPIC Hydrogen Energy Technology (SPIC Hydrogen Tech) announced that it successfully passed the audit conducted by the internationally authoritative organization TÜV Rheinland in group certification mode, officially obtaining the IATF16949:2016 Quality Management System Certificate in the advanced materials and parts category. This marks that the company's fuel cell full-chain independent technology products have met the core quality management standards of the automotive industry, possessing the key qualification to enter the global automotive supply chain.
IATF16949 is the globally recognized core quality management system standard in the automotive industry. It is not only an important basis for measuring an enterprise's quality management capability but also a "market access permit" for automotive supply chain enterprises. It imposes extremely high requirements on product stability, compliance, and supply chain collaboration capability, making it particularly suitable for technology products like fuel cells that need deep integration with the automotive industry.
SPIC Hydrogen Tech and its four subsidiaries (Ningbo Green Motion, Wuhan Green Motion, Jinan Green Motion, Foshan Green Motion) simultaneously obtained this certification. The certification scope comprehensively covers the core products of the fuel cell "materials - components - system" full chain, specifically including:
Core Materials: Catalyst, proton exchange membrane, carbon paper, gas diffusion layer;
Key Components: Membrane electrode, fuel cell stack;
End-User Systems: Fuel cell power system.
This means that SPIC Hydrogen Tech's independent technology products, from upstream materials to downstream systems, have met the international automotive industry's quality management requirements, laying a key foundation for its cooperation with automakers and expansion into the vehicle fuel cell market.
Enhancing Quality Management Level: The certification drives optimization of full-chain quality control, establishing standardized processes from R&D and production to after-sales service, ensuring product reliability and consistency;
Strengthening Market Competitiveness: As one of the few domestic enterprises achieving IATF16949 certification for full-chain fuel cell products, SPIC Hydrogen Tech will more easily gain the trust of automakers and overseas clients, broadening market cooperation opportunities;
Solidifying Industrialisation Foundation: The certified subsidiaries are located in major hydrogen energy industry bases across the country, enabling large-scale, standardized production based on a unified quality management standard, reducing costs and improving delivery efficiency.
This certification sets a benchmark for "full-chain quality control" in the industry, particularly in key materials such as proton exchange membranes and catalysts, which were previously reliant on imports. The independent products of China Hydrogen Technology Co., Ltd. (State Power Investment Corporation Hydrogen Energy Technology Co., Ltd.) passing international certification will accelerate the localisation substitution process of core hydrogen energy materials in China and promote the development of the entire fuel cell industry chain towards high quality and standardisation.
