On October 14, the organizing committee of "The Green Shipping 2025 Green Shipping Conference" officially released the agenda and lineup of speakers. More than 50 leading shipowning enterprises globally, including Maersk, Wah Kwong, China Shipping Taiping Shipping, and Stena, will gather in Shanghai to jointly explore the green transition pathways for the shipping industry under the new IMO regulations. The conference is scheduled to take place on October 23 at the Shanghai Marriott Hotel Hongqiao, signifying that the global shipping industry is accelerating the establishment of a new pattern of industrial collaborative decarbonization against the backdrop of mandatory emission reduction policies.

Core Agenda of the Conference:

  • Organizational Structure: Hosted by JX Marine and co-hosted by International Ship & Offshore Network, the conference is structured into four thematic sections: Global Perspectives, Technological Empowerment, Digital Intelligence, and Practical Pathways, comprehensively covering key issues such as policies and regulations, fuel choices, and energy efficiency management.
  • Participant Lineup: Bringing together top global shipowners like Maersk, ship repair and building yards, port operators, and clean energy solution providers, forming an authoritative exchange platform covering the entire industry chain of shipping.

Agenda Setting and Industry Value:
The core highlight of the conference lies in directly addressing the industrial transformation under the IMO's mandatory emission framework. The agenda is closely aligned with the amendments to the International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships adopted by the IMO in April 2025, which for the first time combine mandatory emission limits with greenhouse gas pricing. The conference will delve into diverse technological pathways such as dual-fuel engines, alternative fuels like hydrogen/ammonia/methanol, wind-assisted propulsion, and air lubrication systems, while also focusing on digital solutions like intelligent route optimization and digital twins, providing shipping enterprises with comprehensive references ranging from strategic planning to operational practices.
