On October 14, Badamdanjing Lagqia, Chairman of the Mongolia Renewable Energy Industry Association (MRIA), led a delegation to visit Inner Mongolia Yipai Hydrogen Energy Technology Co., Ltd. again, conducting in-depth discussions on the implementation of cooperation for Mongolia's first hydrogen energy industry base and hydrogen energy commercial vehicle demonstration project. This collaboration among the four parties (MRIA, Mongolia Duolan Ecological Group, Hebei Shenneng Industry Group Co., Ltd., and Yipai Hydrogen Energy) marks the official transition of China-Mongolia hydrogen energy cooperation from intent discussion to substantive advancement, jointly aiming to build a demonstration park deeply integrating the entire industry chain of "new energy-ESS-hydrogen energy-equipment manufacturing-green logistics".

Project Core Indicators:

  • Industrial Scale: Yipai Hydrogen Energy possesses an annual production capacity of 2,000 sets of hydrogen fuel cell production lines. Its 200kW hydrogen fuel cell system can achieve normal cold start at temperatures as low as -30 degrees Celsius, precisely meeting the special climate needs of Mongolia. Duolan Ecological Group owns abundant mineral resources, including 70 million mt of iron ore, 5 million mt of copper ore, and 600 million mt of coking coal.
  • Supporting Infrastructure: The Ordos Daqi Gushanliang ESS Power Station project, in which Hebei Shenneng participates as an investor, has a scale of 3GW/12.8GWh with a total investment of 1.984 billion yuan. Utilizing electric thermal molten salt ESS technology, it can achieve 8-hour long duration energy storage (LDES) and is expected to be completed and operational in H2 2026.

Technology Integration and Highlights: The core highlight of the project lies inEstablishing a Cross-Regional Entire Industry Chain Collaborative Development Model. By leveraging the complementary strengths of the four parties, Mongolia's resource endowment is deeply integrated with China's mature hydrogen energy technology and ESS solutions, creating a complete ecosystem spanning from mineral resource development to hydrogen energy equipment manufacturing, and from energy storage system construction to green logistics operation. Yipai Hydrogen Energy has already established a strategic cooperation with Yitai Group and is advancing the Hangjinqi Wind and Solar Power-Hydrogen-ESS-Vehicle Integration Project, which plans a daily hydrogen refueling capacity of 26 mt to meet the operational needs of 400 hydrogen-powered heavy trucks, providing a replicable practical model for the Mongolia project.
