On October 9, Jingneng Technology (Yixian) Co., Ltd. officially launched the engineering procurement construction (EPC) tender for its AEM water electrolysis hydrogen production project, marking a critical step by Jingneng Group in the industrial application of new-type water electrolysis hydrogen production technology. Located in Yixian County, Baoding City, Hebei Province, the project represents an important practice by Jingneng Group in proactively deploying cutting-edge hydrogen production technologies and promoting the diversified development of the green hydrogen industry.

Project Core Indicators:

  • Technology Route and Scale: The project explicitly adopts the AEM (anion exchange membrane) water electrolysis hydrogen production technology route. This technology path combines the material cost advantages of alkaline electrolyzers with the rapid response and efficiency characteristics of PEM electrolyzers, making it a strong contender for the next generation of water electrolysis technology. The launch of the EPC tender indicates that its technological maturity has transitioned from R&D demonstration to commercial projects.
  • Prior R&D Foundation: The technical feasibility of the project is based on the "50 kW AEM Water Electrolysis Hydrogen Production Device Research and Development" project completed by Jingneng Group in March 2025. The R&D device was constructed by the industry-leading enterprise Peric Hydrogen Technologies Co., Ltd., which won the tender, providing crucial support for the technology selection and equipment integration of this scaled project.

This tender covers the EPC, aiming to achieve integrated integration from technology R&D to project implementation, reflecting Jingneng Group's strategic consideration of mastering core technologies and reducing overall project construction costs and risks.

As Jingneng Group's first AEM hydrogen production project deployed in Yixian County, Hebei Province, the project fully leverages local policy and location advantages. AEM hydrogen production technology, due to its fast start-stop capability and adaptability to fluctuating power supplies, is particularly suitable for the local consumption and conversion of renewable energy sources such as wind and solar power. The implementation of this project not only cultivates a new green growth point for Jingneng Group but also provides a "Yixian Demonstration" for the diversification of technology routes in the hydrogen energy industry of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, holding pioneering significance for exploring distributed, high-efficiency green hydrogen production models.
