On September 29, the survey and design services for the hydrogen production station of Inner Mongolia Huadian Damao Banner 1 million kW wind and solar power hydrogen production project commenced tender. This project represents another significant wind and solar power hydrogen production initiative deployed by Huadian in Inner Mongolia, holding great importance for promoting the development of the local hydrogen energy industry.

Project Core Indicators

  • Construction Location: Located in Damao Banner, Baotou City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
  • Scale and Volume:
    1. New energy power generation: Construction of 1 million kW of new energy power generation, comprising 700 MW of wind power and 300 MW of PV power. This includes the installation of 70 wind turbine generators with a unit capacity of 10 MW, 405,406 half-cell double-glass N-type modules rated above 740 Wp, along with supporting facilities such as two 220 kV booster stations, access roads, and power collection lines. Additionally, a 100 MW/200 MWh LFP battery ESS power station will be constructed.
    2. Hydrogen production and storage: Construction of 88 sets of 1,000 Nm³/h water electrolysis hydrogen production units and supporting equipment, with an annual hydrogen production capacity of 547 million NmL. Configuration of 25 hydrogen spherical tanks with a water volume of 2,000 m³ each, providing a hydrogen storage capacity of 650,000 NmL. Simultaneously, supporting facilities including one 220 kV hydrogen production main step-down station will be built.

Project Timeline and Tender Scope

  • Tender Procurement Project Timeline: The preparation of various survey reports is tentatively scheduled to be completed within 45 days after contract signing, preliminary design within 60 days, construction drawing design within 90 days, and as-built drawing preparation within 30 days after project completion.
  • Tender Scope: Survey and design services for the hydrogen production station under the distributed energy station design, covering the engineering survey and design work for the hydrogen production station and the 220 kV main step-down station portion of the 1 million kW integrated wind and solar power hydrogen production project. This includes multi-disciplinary design for processes, chemistry, laboratory analysis, architecture, structure, etc., within the hydrogen production station and the 220 kV main step-down station. It provides detailed survey and design services for the entire process from construction preparation and construction drawing design to as-built drawings, meeting comprehensive requirements for project approval, construction, acceptance, and audit.

Project Characteristics

This project does not accept consortium bids. It focuses on the survey and design of the hydrogen production station and related supporting facilities, aiming to provide strong support for the subsequent construction and operation of wind and solar power hydrogen production projects through professional design. This assists in achieving "green hydrogen" production from "green electricity," promotes the development of the hydrogen energy industry locally, and further expands Huadian's footprint in the field of wind and solar power hydrogen production.
