On September 8, Rockcheck Steel Group announced that its clean transport ratio had increased to 90.37%, achieving Tianjin's environmental protection target four months ahead of schedule. Hydrogen-powered heavy-duty trucks played a key role as a critical component of zero-carbon logistics. Fuel cell power systems from its partner Guohong Hydrogen Energy accounted for over 40% of Rockcheck’s hydrogen-powered heavy-duty trucks, supporting the green operation of multiple transport routes.

Key Metrics:

Policy Requirements: Tianjin requires that environmental protection Grade A enterprises achieve a clean transport ratio of over 90% by 2026, while Hebei province has a similar standard requiring no less than 80%.

Technical Performance: Guohong Hydrogen Energy's fuel cell system achieves a maximum working efficiency of 61%, with a design life exceeding 30,000 hours. It has undergone validation in extreme environments such as severe cold and high temperatures, and covers complex operating conditions at multiple steel enterprises across the country.

Operational Coverage: Hydrogen-powered heavy-duty trucks operate stably on key routes such as Tianjin Port–Rockcheck Steel and Tianjin Port–Changzhi, Shanxi, serving several large steel enterprises including HBIS Group in Tangshan and Chongqing Iron and Steel.

Strategic Significance:

Hydrogen-powered heavy-duty trucks have shifted from being an "option" to a "necessity" for environmental ratings of steel enterprises, directly aiding the steel industry in striving for environmental protection Grade A status. Rockcheck Group’s practices provide a green transport template for high-emission industries. Coupled with tightening policies, hydrogen-powered heavy-duty trucks are expected to become a standardized solution for low-carbon transformation in industries such as steel and cement.

Broader Impact:

This case marks the transition of hydrogen energy transportation from demonstration to large-scale application. Through full life cycle service support, Guohong Hydrogen Energy has validated the feasibility of hydrogen-powered heavy-duty trucks in emission reduction, cost, and reliability. As environmental protection policies become stricter, hydrogen-powered heavy-duty trucks will accelerate their penetration into high-emission industries, forming a closed loop of "policy-driven, technology-upgraded, market-absorbed," thereby advancing the carbon neutrality process in the transportation sector.
