On September 19, the "Western Hydrogen Path · Green Start Grand Journey" hydrogen corridor integrated project was officially launched in Manas County, Changji Prefecture, Xinjiang. Led by Guofu Hydrogen Energy and jointly developed with Longshengda and Lingniu Technology, the project aims to build Xinjiang's first closed-loop ecosystem for the entire industry chain of "green electricity hydrogen production - storage and transportation - refueling - application," with an annual production of over 20,000 mt of green hydrogen. It is a key national-level hydrogen hub layout serving the "Belt and Road" initiative.
Project Core Scale and Technical Route:
Hydrogen Production Scale: Two 10,000-mt-scale green hydrogen plants in Manas and Hutubi have been compliantly commenced, equipped with140 MWalkaline electrolyzer systems, achieving a hydrogen production capacity of28,000 Nm³/hour. Upon operation, the annual production of green hydrogen will reachover 20,000 mt.
Storage and Transportation Innovation: The Manas plant innovatively usesflexible non-metallic composite pipesto transport hydrogen to chemical enterprises in the park, with a first-phase hydrogen transportation capacity of10,000 mt/year, pioneering a new model of low-carbon hydrogen transportation for chemical parks.
Refueling Network: Adopting a "self-built + PetroChina cooperation" model,2integrated hydrogen refueling stations have been constructed, with4more to be built. Future plans include deploying an additional62stations around key logistics periods, forming a hydrogen refueling service network covering Northern Xinjiang.
Application Closed Loop: Currently,20hydrogen logistics vehicles are in operation, with plans to expand to1,500units, forming a true commercial closed loop of "production-storage-transportation-refueling-application."
Regional Strategy and Ecosystem Building:
The project is based in core areas such as Urumqi, Changji, and Shihezi, aiming to build the "Urumqi, Changji, Shihezi" Tianshan North Slope hydrogen economic belt. After operation, it is expected to utilize1.2 billion kWhof green electricity annually and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by200,000 mt. Through the bidirectional boost of "large-scale green hydrogen production + high-frequency logistics application," it will effectively reduce the cost of the entire industry chain and lay a solid foundation for Xinjiang to optimize its energy structure, build a national large-scale green hydrogen supply base, and serve green energy cooperation under the "Belt and Road" initiative.
Conclusion:
The launch of this project is a successful practice of the hydrogen entire industry chain ecosystem model in the energy-rich western region. Through complementary advantages among enterprises (Guofu Hydrogen Energy equipment, Longshengda infrastructure, Lingniu Technology operation), it has built a replicable model of hydrogen industry collaboration, providing an "Xinjiang example" for the construction and commercial operation of large-scale green hydrogen bases nationwide.
