On September 15, STELATO announced that Huawei and BAIC would operate as a strategic community for the brand, deepening collaboration across technology, production, and sales.

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On September 15, STELATO, the premium new energy vehicle (NEV) brand jointly developed by Huawei and BAIC Group, announced that Huawei and BAIC would operate as a "strategic community" for the brand, deepening collaboration across technology, production, and sales.

The brand plans to channel its investment into four core areas: design, ADAS, smart cockpit technologies, and safety and quality. A new business division dedicated to STELATO will be formed, working in close coordination with Huawei and BAIC to ensure integration across the entire value chain—from product design through to retail and after-sales services.

To reinforce its premium positioning, STELATO will establish its own manufacturing and supply chain system and implement a dual quality-control mechanism. The company also plans to develop exclusive sales and service channels, promising customers a high-end ownership experience that extends across the entire lifecycle of buying, using, and maintaining a vehicle.

The brand's STELATO S9T model opened for pre-orders on August 18 with prices starting at 328,000 yuan. The vehicle is scheduled to officially hit the market this September.

Just one day after reservations opened, the director for Huawei's Smart Selection Vehicle program (dedicated to the STELATO line), Peng Lei, revealed that more than 20,000 units of preliminary orders had been placed within 24 hours.

The STELATO S9T comes equipped with Huawei's ADS 4 driver's assistance system, air suspension, continuous damping control (CDC), and the latest HUAWEI Tuling Platform 3.0.

Powertrain options include both REEV (range-extended electric vehicle) and BEV (battery electric vehicle) versions. The REEV variant comes with 37 kWh and 53.4 kWh battery packs, delivering up to 354 km of battery-powered range and a maximum combined CLTC range of 1,305 km. The BEV version features a 100 kWh battery with a CLTC-rated driving range of up to 801 km.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
