Morella Streamlines Nevada Lithium Portfolio

Published: Sep 10, 2025 07:00
Morella Corporation Limited recently announced that it has entered into a Deed of Termination and Assignment with Lithium Corporation (LTUM) to restructure their joint venture arrangements over the Fish Lake Valley (FLV) and North Big Smoky (NBS) lithium projects in Nevada, USA. Under the agreement, Morella will hold 100% ownership of the restructured FLV South and NBS projects, consolidating its Nevada lithium portfolio, while LTUM will retain full ownership of the FLV North claims. LTUM will receive a 3.5% Net Smelter Royalty (NSR) on the FLV South and NBS projects, with Morella retaining the right to repurchase 50% of the NSR for USD $3 million (FLV) and USD $2 million (NBS) within five years. In addition, the parties agreed that shares due in 2025 will be issued to LTUM on a staggered basis over an 18-month period, with all future share issuance entitlements extinguished. The restructuring also eliminates USD $250,000 in near-term cash obligations for Morella and significantly reduces project holding costs. Both parties have granted each other mutual Rights of First Refusal, maintaining a collaborative relationship. This restructuring not only enhances Morella's control over its core assets and improves flexibility in exploration and development, but also maximizes capital efficiency through streamlined project management and cost reduction, laying a solid foundation for future value creation.

Battery-Grade Lithium Sulfide: Will Q4 See a Spike?
Key takeaway upfront: A Q4 spike is unlikely, but we do expect continued moderate growth. Monthly output is likely to settle in the 9–10 tonne range – a modest step-up from Q3, not an explosive leap.
