On September 2, 2025, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region's first integrated green electricity hydrogen production, storage, and refueling system spanning the entire industry chain of hydrogen "production-storage-application," along with a hydrogen-powered bike-sharing demonstration project, was officially launched in Kangbashi District, Ordos. Operated by Ordos Kangneng New Energy Investment Co., Ltd., and jointly developed by the Ordos Institute of Henan Polytechnic University and Ordos Guosheng Lihua Hydrogen Production Equipment Co., Ltd., the project leverages local surplus distributed PV power to establish a closed-loop model of "electrolytic hydrogen production (2.5 kg/hour)—solid-state hydrogen storage (20 kg)—portable refueling (50 ports)—hydrogen-powered shared bike application," achieving the energy cycle of "green electricity producing green hydrogen, green hydrogen serving the public."

Core Technological Highlights:

Green Electricity Hydrogen Production System:Utilizing Guosheng Lihua's independently developed ALK alkaline water electrolysis technology, the system features DC power consumption ≤4.4 kWh/Nm³, efficiency ≥65%, and significantly improved hydrogen purity, suitable for multi-scenario hydrogen production from wind, PV, and seawater. Integrated with remote online monitoring, gas diagnostics, and safety redundancy design, it enables real-time monitoring of gas purity, pressure, and other metrics, with rapid power cutoff and gas dispersion in case of leakage. The hydrogen storage system employs titanium-manganese-based alloy materials, operating within a temperature range of -40°C to 80°C, with a hydrogen storage capacity ≥1.7 wt% and cycle life exceeding 3,000 cycles while maintaining ≥90% capacity, far surpassing traditional high-pressure storage solutions in safety.

Hydrogen-Powered Shared Bikes:Equipped with swappable titanium-manganese-based solid-state hydrogen storage units, each refueling takes only 1 minute, ensuring a stable driving range of 100 km and eliminating the winter range degradation issue of traditional EVs. Waste heat from the fuel cell also warms the seat, enhancing winter riding comfort. Phase 1 of the project deploys 100 hydrogen-powered shared bikes, 1 sightseeing vehicle, and 4 family bikes, covering a 3-km living radius along Kangbashi's central axis to meet high-frequency commuting and leisure travel demands.

Industrial and Social Value:

With a total investment of 28 million yuan, the project will be implemented in two phases, with Phase 2 planned to expand to hydrogen-powered buses, municipal vehicles, and scenic shuttle vehicles, alongside a scaled-up hydrogen production station (daily output of 200 kg). Its significance lies in:

Technological Breakthrough:Validating core technologies such as low-pressure solid-state hydrogen storage and full-process safety control, setting an example for green hydrogen applications in chemical, metallurgical, and power generation industries.

Public Application:Bringing hydrogen energy into daily life through shared mobility, bridging public awareness gaps, and fostering end-use consumer markets.

Economic Empowerment:Leveraging high-frequency travel scenarios to accumulate data, laying the groundwork for hydrogen passenger vehicle adoption and refueling infrastructure deployment, creating a virtuous cycle of "application driving market, market boosting industry."
