【SMM Nickel Market Flash】On Aug 21, commodity trader Trafigura rejected allegations that it profited from businessman Prateek Gupta’s fraudulent nickel trading scheme, which caused losses of over US$570 million. Gupta alleges Trafigura designed the arrangement to inflate its nickel trading presence and balance sheet strength. Trafigura dismissed the claims as baseless, with the case scheduled for trial in November 2025.
