Green Hydrogen Project Update – Inner Mongolia Hydrogen Production Base Approved

On August 14, the first phase of the wind and solar power hydrogen production integration project in Chahar Youyi Zhongqi was registered.

The project is located in the Dongyuan area of the Chahar Youyi Zhongqi Industrial Park within the Huitengxile Green Economic Development Zone, Ulanqab, Inner Mongolia, and it is a new construction project. The project entity is Junrui Green Hydrogen Energy (Chahar Youyi Zhongqi) Co., Ltd., with a total investment of 974 million yuan.

Construction scale: A new electrolysis water hydrogen production station with an annual hydrogen production capacity of 14,400 mt will be built, covering a total land area of 194,800 m² (approximately 300 mu), and operating for 4,000 hours per year. Main construction contents: Core equipment: equipped with 40×1000Nm³/h alkaline electrolyzers, 14×2000m³ hydrogen storage tanks, as well as hydrogen purification devices, compressors, etc. Auxiliary facilities: including substations, desalination water treatment systems, circulating cooling water systems, hydrogen transmission systems, air compression nitrogen systems, etc. General layout and civil engineering: the overall plan is divided into pump areas and electrolysis workshop areas, with a building coefficient of 29.41%, and a green area of 89,700 m²; the total construction area of newly built buildings/structures is 37,968 m², including 4 electrolysis workshops, 2 purification and compression workshops, power stations, hydrogen tank areas, control rooms, etc., mostly using steel structures to meet fire and explosion protection requirements; the factory roads are asphalt concrete pavements, with one entrance and exit. The project adopts renewable energy electrolysis water hydrogen production technology, with 100% of the electricity coming from newly built wind and PV power plants, aiming to meet the green hydrogen demand of enterprises in the park.
