On July 31, 2025, Qingling Motors Co., Ltd. announced in Chongqing that the first batch of 49-mt hydrogen fuel cell tractor trucks tailored for the Hami region of Xinjiang had officially rolled off the production line and been delivered to the local coal transportation market, marking a green transportation revolution with zero carbon emissions on the core route for "Xinjiang coal outward transportation." This batch of 52 customized vehicles is equipped with a 190kW fuel cell system jointly developed by Qingling Yunchuang and Bosch, along with a 2200L large-capacity gas storage tank (with a storage pressure of up to 70MPa) and a coasting energy recovery system, achieving a driving range of over 600 kilometers and enabling hydrogen refueling to be completed in just 10 minutes, thus completely resolving the energy replenishment concerns for medium- and long-haul transportation9.

As one of the provinces and cities with the most abundant coal resources in China, Xinjiang has been promoting green transformation by focusing on the large-scale application of new energy heavy trucks in recent years. In 2023, Xinjiang released the "Three-Year Action Plan for the Hydrogen Energy Industry Development (2023-2025)", explicitly accelerating the commercial application of hydrogen energy. In March 2025, Hami City was successfully selected as part of the second batch of national demonstration city clusters for fuel cell vehicles, becoming the only city in Xinjiang to join both the Zhengzhou and Guangdong national demonstration city clusters, providing policy guarantees for the implementation of the hydrogen energy industry245. Qingling Motors, relying on its industry-leading hydrogen energy technology accumulation, has conducted special R&D from the vehicle structure to the power system, targeting the extreme climate conditions in Hami, including high summer temperatures (70℃), severe winter cold (-30℃), and frequent sandstorms, to ensure stable vehicle operation under harsh environments and fully meet the needs of coal transportation.

These vehicles offer significant economic advantages: hydrogen fuel costs are 30%-35% lower than diesel, and maintenance costs are only 30% of those for internal combustion engine vehicles. Additionally, they are equipped with intelligent driving assistance systems and vehicle-to-everything (V2X) connectivity, enabling seamless "human-vehicle-cloud" interconnection and greatly improving operational efficiency and management convenience9. Qingling's hydrogen fuel cell heavy trucks have previously operated in 20 provinces and cities nationwide, serving over 40 clients including the Beijing Winter Olympics Organizing Committee, with the maximum mileage of a single vehicle exceeding 500,000 kilometers, and their technological reliability has been recognized by the industry8. This delivery, overcoming extreme high temperatures in Chongqing (above 40℃) and supply chain challenges, was completed on schedule with high quality, demonstrating the company's technological strength and fulfillment capabilities.

In the future, Qingling will continue to deepen cooperation with Hami and other regions, accelerate hydrogen energy technology R&D and product innovation, promote the large-scale application of hydrogen-powered commercial vehicles, and contribute the "Qingling Solution" to the construction of a national green transportation system8. This breakthrough is not only an important milestone in Qingling's new energy strategy but also marks the official entry of Xinjiang's "black gold" transportation into the zero-carbon era.
