From July 28 to 29 local time, He Lifeng, the Chinese lead negotiator for economic and trade issues and Vice Premier of the State Council, held economic and trade talks with Bethune, the US lead negotiator, US Treasury Secretary, and Greer, the US Trade Representative, in Stockholm, Sweden. According to the consensus reached during the talks, both sides will continue to promote the 90-day extension as scheduled of the 24% portion of the US reciprocal tariff that has been suspended, as well as China's retaliatory measures.

He Lifeng stated that the economic and trade teams of China and the US should be guided by the important consensus reached during the phone call between the heads of state of the two countries on June 5, uphold the principles of mutual respect, peaceful coexistence, and win-win cooperation, respect each other's concerns, further consolidate consensus, and deepen mutual trust. China's stance on China-US economic and trade relations remains consistent. The essence of China-US economic and trade relations is mutual benefit and win-win cooperation. Both sides share extensive common interests and broad cooperation prospects in the economic and trade field. When China and the US cooperate, both benefit; when they compete, both suffer. A stable, healthy, and sustainable China-US economic and trade relationship is not only conducive to achieving their respective development goals but also beneficial to promoting the development and stability of the global economy.
