Vale Indonesia plans to raise between $1 billion and $1.2 billion from 2026 to 2027 to support its ongoing nickel ore and smelter projects, said Andaru Brahmono Adi, the company's corporate treasurer. The first round of financing, approximately $500 million, is expected to be secured through bank loans in early 2026, with the possibility of issuing bonds in 2027. The raised funds will be used to develop three nickel mines and to jointly construct an HPAL (High-Pressure Acid Leach) smelter with partners. The mine in Bahodopi is expected to commence production later this year, while the Pomalaa mine is planned to become operational in 2026.
