Indonesian Trade Minister Budi Santoso emphasized that Indonesia firmly opposes transshipment activities related to other countries and reiterated the need to strictly adhere to the trade agreement negotiated by President Trump and President Prabowo. According to the agreement, the US import tariff on Indonesia was reduced from 32% to 19%, the lowest in Southeast Asia. This has raised concerns that Indonesia might be used as a transshipment hub by countries with high tariffs. Budi warned that tariff concessions could be readjusted if the terms of the agreement are violated, and once again stressed the need to strictly comply with the rules stipulated in the bilateral agreement.
