Indonesian Trade Minister Budi Santoso emphasized that Indonesia firmly rejects transhipment practices involving other countries, stressing the importance of complying with the trade agreement negotiated between President Trump and President Prabowo. Under the deal, Indonesia secured a reduction in U.S. import tariffs from 32% to 19%, the lowest rate in Southeast Asia. This has raised concerns that Indonesia could be exploited as a transhipment hub by nations facing higher tariffs. Budi warned that any violation of the agreement could result in changes to the tariff terms and reiterated the need to strictly adhere to the rules outlined in the bilateral accord.
