On July 15, the grand opening ceremony of Dayang Electric Drive Technology (Chongqing) Co., Ltd. and the global launch of (U+X) PIN stators and rotors were held here.

As a global leader in electric drive systems for NEVs, Dayang Motor's decision to establish a presence in Yubei during the height of summer reflects not only its recognition of Chongqing's manufacturing heritage but also its precise grasp of the opportunities in the intelligent connected NEV industry. From signing the agreement in the summer of 2023 to the current commissioning, in just two years, an intelligent factory with an investment exceeding 1 billion yuan has risen from the ground. Xu Bin, Deputy District Governor of Yubei District Government, said in his speech: "In July, Yubei is abuzz with activity, and everything is thriving. Today, we gather here to jointly witness the commissioning of the project and the launch of the product." He stated that Yubei District closely aligns with the city's "33618" industrial layout, upgrading and creating the "2335" advanced manufacturing industry cluster. The total industrial output value of enterprises above designated size and the regional GDP have led the city for 16 consecutive years and 17 consecutive years, respectively. By seizing the opportunities in the intelligent connected NEV industry and introducing top-tier enterprises such as Dayang Motor, the district's annual NEV production has increased by over 500%, strongly supporting the breakthrough of industrial output value to over 400 billion yuan. "We firmly believe that with the deep involvement of leading enterprises such as Dayang Motor, Yubei's intelligent connected NEV industry ecosystem will become more prosperous, and the industry chain will become more resilient," Xu Bin pledged. In his speech, Shen Xin stated that Chongqing, as an important manufacturing center and transportation hub in the western region, boasts unique geographical advantages, a complete industrial chain ecosystem, and a high-quality business environment. In 2024, the automotive production exceeded 2.54 million units, with NEV production reaching 950,000 units and a YoY increase of 90%. This is precisely why Dayang Motor chose to establish a new production site here—it is not only a crucial step in the group's strategic layout but also a practice in response to the national "dual carbon" goals and to boost the development of the western region's new energy industry.
Shen Xin introduced that Dayang Electric Drive Technology (Chongqing) Co., Ltd. is mainly engaged in the R&D and production of NEV powertrain systems and parts. The commissioning of the Chongqing factory marks a new milestone for Dayang Electric Motor in terms of capacity upgrades and technological breakthroughs in the field of NEV core components, and also completes the industrial layout covering the eastern, central, and western regions of China. In the future, this site will integrate R&D, production, and testing, focusing on the large-scale production of efficient motors and electric control systems, providing more efficient and reliable green power solutions for global customers. The (U+X) PIN stator and rotor products, which made their debut this time, underwent four rounds of development and iteration over three years, with the first mass-produced version rolling off the production line on March 1, 2025, and officially entering production on June 20. "The completion of this intelligent factory will further consolidate our technological leadership and inject strong momentum into the NEV industry chain in Chongqing and even south-west China," Shen Xin said.

Introduction to (U+X) PIN Stator and Rotor Products
Dayang Electric Drive Technology (Chongqing) Co., Ltd. introduced the (U+X) PIN stator and rotor at the event venue: Although the specifications of the U+Xpin motor stator and rotor launched on that day are not the highest in the industry, with a speed of only 22,000 rpm and a power of only 200 kW, this motor still redefines a new height in motor technology, marking that China's NEV electric drive system technology has firmly established its position in the global first tier:
1. Firstly, efficiency:
Based on research into material service behavior, the company employs multi-physical domain joint design and intelligent optimization algorithms to achieve a good balance in various technical indicators of the motor.
The company adopts ultra-thin 0.2mm high-performance electrical steel sheets and selective grain boundary diffusion + segmented bonding magnetic steel technology, which has improved operational efficiency by 0.5%.
On this basis, the company has adopted U+Xpin technology. Compared to Npin technology, the copper wire end is shortened by more than 4mm, and compared to Hairpin technology, the copper wire end is shortened by more than 8mm. The motor's volume density is increased by nearly 3%, and efficiency is further improved.
2. Secondly, quietness:
Dayang Motor has accumulated 31 years of motor development and manufacturing technology, and has also accumulated rich experience in NVH performance design. The product launched this time is the culmination of these technologies and experiences. The U+Xpin technology, which shortens the motor winding end, endows the motor with better NVH performance, enabling customers to build NEVs with excellent NVH levels, achieving a better driving experience and customer loyalty.
3. Some of the technological innovations involved in this product:
Even before the construction of this production line, Shanghai Electric Drive had already established 5 Hairpin flat wire stator production lines. The company has been continuously developing and validating the core technologies for X-Pin manufacturing. During the industrialisation process of U+Xpin technology, the company overcame numerous technical challenges. Starting from 2022, it took 3 years of technical breakthroughs and 4 rounds of design and manufacturing plan iterations to successfully complete the development task.
►3.1 Innovation in Flat Wire Stator Production Line Layout
The processes in the flat wire stator production line are highly interrelated. In this regard, the company broke away from the traditional assembly line layout, decoupled the key control relationships in stator manufacturing, and innovatively decomposed the production line into 6 independent work areas. It defined the input and output standards for each work area, set up corresponding automated monitoring systems, and significantly reduced the complexity of production line debugging.
►3.2 Industry-Leading High-Precision PIN Wire Manufacturing Technology
As a core input in the (U+X) Pin process, the company uses laser paint removal and mold forming, minimizing the loss of conductive area. The paint removal time can be as fast as 1.2s per piece, with an average cycle time of 1.7s per Pin wire on a single machine. The straightness of the wire reaches 0.1mm, and the length accuracy is 0.2mm, reaching industry-leading levels.
►3.3 Core Twisting Process Technology
The company uses the industry's first pin-type twisting head equipment, combined with finite element simulation analysis, to precisely control the size and position of the twisting head, with deviations controlled within 0.3mm, achieving advanced industry standards.
►3.4 High-Quality Laser Welding Technology
Welding is a critical success factor for U+X PIN. The company uses dual-ring anti-splatter + DOE parameter experiments to control welding heat, avoiding light leakage and overheating. It employs 2D+3D camera fusion visual detection for visual guidance, adds OCT monitoring during welding to monitor quality in real-time, and uses structured light + multi-model AI training to monitor post-weld quality. The welding pass rate is ≥99%.
►3.5 Intelligent Online Quality Monitoring
In terms of performance detection, this U+X Pin production line extensively applies various automated monitoring methods. For example, in online forming, we use laser and visual sensors to ensure the precision of Pin wires. In the twisting process, the company uses multiple sets of laser sensors and CCD visual inspection to ensure the stability of the equipment and the quality of the delivered products. In the welding process, we use 2D vision, 3D vision, OCT optical monitoring, and large-scale AI models to monitor welding quality. In the BUSbar welding process, the company uses CCD 2D vision-guided welding. In the varnish dripping and coating process, the company achieves 100% PDIV detection and CCD appearance detection for stators.
►3.6 Precise Traceability
All workstations on the production line are equipped with video recording capabilities and the MES traceability system independently developed by Dayang Electric Motor and Shanghai Electric Drive, enabling precise traceability for each workpiece.
