Chengdu Company has successfully developed a 220kW solid-state hydrogen storage fuel cell emergency power generation system through R&D

As the peak electricity consumption period for summer approaches, the launch ceremony for the first 220kW highly safe solid-state hydrogen storage fuel cell emergency power generation system in south-west China was held at the Weiwang Youlian Wi-Fi Smart Terminal Industrial Park on July 15. Leaders including He Kaifeng, Deputy Head of Xindu District, Chengdu, Xiao Jun, Researcher from the Chengdu Science and Technology Bureau, as well as representatives from the Chengdu Economic and Information Technology Bureau, Xindu District Science and Technology Bureau, Xindu District Economic and Information Technology Bureau, and the Xindu High-tech Zone Management Committee, along with representatives from hydrogen energy industry enterprises, universities, and media outlets, attended the event.

In September 2024, led by Rongchuang Innovation Energy, in collaboration with Houpu and Jiqi Technology, the project "2024 Green and Low-Carbon Field Key Project - Highly Safe 220kW Hydrogen Fuel Cell Emergency Power Generation System" was submitted to the Chengdu Science and Technology Bureau. The R&D team completed the task in just 10 months, 8 months ahead of the original schedule. This product features an integrated design of "fuel cell + solid-state hydrogen storage" as its core, and has established a safe and efficient energy emergency system through five major technological innovations. It encompasses functions such as fuel cell power generation, solid-state hydrogen storage hydrogen supply, UPS energy storage and power supply, etc. The design meets the requirements of the user for environmental protection, power supply guarantee time, emergency response speed, system volume, etc., supporting lightweight, compact, and rapid dynamic deployment, with the capability for rapid online fuel refilling and uninterrupted continuous power supply.

At the product unveiling site

Initially, this product will provide emergency power supply for the fresh air system and production lighting in the automated dust-free workshop of the Weiwang Youlian Wi-Fi Smart Terminal Industrial Park. In the future, it can be expanded to more critical scenarios such as data centers and automated production lines. Chen Tao, Chairman of Weiwang Youlian, proposed at the product launch conference that Weiwang Youlian adheres to an innovative philosophy, actively responds to the dual carbon strategy, and is committed to building zero-carbon factories and zero-carbon parks. The hydrogen energy emergency power supply product launched this time provides a new solution for enterprise emergency power supply, creating a "zero-carbon model". Weiwang Youlian is willing to support the application demonstration of scientific and technological achievements and jointly provide support for the application of new hydrogen energy technologies and products.

The launch of this highly safe emergency 220kW hydrogen fuel cell power generation system product, led by Rongchuang Innovation Energy, marks a new breakthrough in the realization of core equipment localization and engineering application of hydrogen energy emergency power supplies in China, providing a new solution for addressing the supply-demand imbalance of electricity in south-west China. As a national strategic backup area, Sichuan has taken the lead in deploying hydrogen energy emergency power supplies. Chengdu actively promotes the application demonstration of hydrogen energy in the field of new energy emergency response, which will add a "green shield" for Chengdu's "summer peak electricity consumption" and more critical scenarios in the future.
