On July 16, it was reported that State Grid Chengde Power Supply Company, in collaboration with industry-university-research teams, had overcome technical challenges in small hydropower speed regulation optimization, composite energy storage support, and coordinated control technology for water, PV, and energy storage. The company established the first 100-kW-level "water, PV, and energy storage" microgrid in Laowopu Township, Weichang County, northern Hebei province.
It is understood that the project integrates a 400-kW hydropower unit and an 800-kW PV system, equipped with a composite energy storage system combining nickel-metal hydride and lithium batteries. An edge-side energy management system has been deployed and connected to the dispatching system. (Polaris Energy Storage Network)
