Recently, at the "Connecting Green Hydrogen Europe 2025" (CGHE2025) hydrogen energy event held in Madrid, Spain, Horizon Fuel Cell Technologies signed a memorandum of cooperation with Spain's Methanol Reformer, announcing a joint effort to develop clean energy solutions. Both parties plan to retrofit Horizon's existing fuel cell systems to integrate with Methanol Reformer's modular methanol-to-hydrogen production equipment, and advance CE, ATEX, and class society certifications to ensure the safe and compliant deployment of related products across multiple fields. This cooperation agreement establishes a framework for technical collaboration, certification processes, and the assembly of fuel cell power solutions in Europe. These solutions will be used for stationary and mobile power generation scenarios in both European and global markets.
Through this collaboration, both parties will accelerate the deployment of off-grid and grid-connected hydrogen energy systems in hard-to-abate sectors, helping to reduce reliance on fossil fuels and advance global decarbonization goals. Gu Zhijun, Chairman of Horizon Fuel Cell Technologies, described this as another in-depth exploration by the company in the field of hydrogen energy applications. Javier Torres, Managing Director of Methanol Reformer, also stated that the cooperation would strengthen their goal of providing reliable, modular power solutions to reduce carbon emissions. Headquartered in Barcelona, Spain, Methanol Reformer specializes in the R&D and manufacturing of methanol-to-hydrogen production systems. Its modular hydrogen production units are suitable for off-grid power supply, mobile scenarios, and distributed energy, aiming to drive energy transformation and sustainable development through low-carbon hydrogen production technologies.
