US June CPI annual rate rises to 2.7%, hitting a new high

The overall annual CPI rate in the US rose to 2.7% in June, reaching a new high since February and meeting market expectations. The monthly rate recorded 0.3%, also a new high since January and in line with market expectations. The core annual CPI rate increased to 2.9%, reaching a new high since February, though falling short of the expected 3%, but rising slightly from 2.8% MoM. The monthly core CPI rate recorded 0.2%, falling short of the market expectation of 0.3%.
