Green Horse breaks industry record again! Electrolyzer energy efficiency reaches the top! No. 1 in the industry!

At the beginning of July, PetroChina's Yumen Oilfield Renewable Energy Hydrogen Production Demonstration Project, which utilizes core hydrogen production equipment provided by Qingqiji, achieved significant progress: two newly added 1000Nm³/h electrolyzers successfully formed a "4-to-1" hydrogen production system with two 1000Nm³/h electrolyzers that had been in long-term operation since 2024. Currently, the system has completed commissioning and been successfully put into operation. Notably, the newly added electrolyzers adopt Qingqiji's latest R&D achievements, setting new industry records in key performance indicators such as hydrogen production energy consumption and decay rate, with the electrolyzers' energy efficiency ranking top in the industry.

 

Energy Efficiency Sets a New Industry Benchmark

In 2024, Qingqiji's electrolyzers were successfully put into operation in projects including Huaneng Zhangye's PV hydrogen production, PetroChina's Yumen Oilfield Renewable Energy Hydrogen Production (Phase I), and a European hydrogen production enterprise's project. Among them, the electrolyzers in PetroChina's Yumen Oilfield project have been operating steadily for over 3500 hours, making it one of the longest-running 1000Nm³/h alkaline electrolyzers in China; the electrolyzers in the European hydrogen production enterprise's project have also exceeded 1500 hours of operation. After long-term operation verification and certification by international and domestic third-party authoritative institutions, Qingqiji's electrolyzers' core indicators—DC energy consumption (4.13kWh/Nm³H₂ at 4000A/m²; 3.92kWh/Nm³H₂ at 2500A/m²), load regulation range (20%-120%), performance decay rate (≤0.1%/1000h), and dynamic regulation rate (≥10%/s)—are the best publicly reported data in currently industrialized 1000Nm³/h electrolyzer projects, with comprehensive performance leading the industry.

In 2025, Qingqiji's new-generation electrolyzers applied in PetroChina's Yumen Oilfield project will further improve DC energy consumption and performance decay rate on the basis of maintaining the above-mentioned performance advantages. Lower energy consumption and decay rate mean higher hydrogen production efficiency, lower hydrogen production costs, and more reliable project feasibility. Through the joint witness of the international third-party authoritative certification body BV and the owner at the PetroChina Yumen Oilfield project site, Qingqiji's electrolyzer energy consumption indicators in 2025 have been empirically confirmed:

• Under a current density of 4000 A/m², DC energy consumption drops to 3.99 kWh/Nm³H₂ (a decrease of 0.14 kWh/Nm³H₂ compared to the electrolyzers put into operation in 2024 under the same conditions, representing a decrease of approximately 3.4%);

• Under a current density of 2500 A/m², DC energy consumption drops to 3.82 kWh/Nm³H₂ (a decrease of 0.1 kWh/Nm³H₂ compared to the electrolyzers put into operation in 2024 under the same conditions, representing a decrease of approximately 2.6%);

Meanwhile, the technological progress made by the new-generation electrolyzers in terms of performance decay rate will gradually become apparent with the project's long-term operation, which will be one of Qingqiji's electrolyzers' most core competitiveness.

 

The core advantage stems from the self-developed strength of continuous innovation.

Led by founders with professional backgrounds in the hydrogen energy field, Qingqiji has assembled a senior R&D team. The team adheres to the principle of using operational evidence to inform technological R&D, continuously delving into the R&D of non-precious metal nickel-based catalysts, optimizing the flow channel design of bipolar plates and production processes, and refining the structure of electrolyzer bodies. Qingqiji consistently strives for excellence in performance while ensuring the safe and stable operation of electrolyzers. Relying on the largest domestic capacity scale for bipolar plates, industry-leading catalyst technology strength, and a top-three domestic electrolyzer assembly capacity, Qingqiji will further upgrade the automation level of its catalyst and bipolar plate production lines in 2025, significantly enhancing the supply speed and quality control capabilities of electrolyzers. The successful operation of the 4×1000Nm³/h electrolyzer hydrogen production system fully demonstrates Qingqiji's high reliability in large-scale hydrogen production systems, as well as its outstanding engineering integration and delivery capabilities.
