SMM News on July 10: According to market feedback, from July 4 to July 10, the weekly production of sample silicon enterprises in Xinjiang was 23,850 mt, with a weekly operating rate of 49%, continuing to decline WoW. The total number of operating furnaces at a major enterprise remained basically stable WoW, and there was no news of production resumption for the idled capacity. The operating rates of other silicon enterprises in Xinjiang were largely stable. Driven by positive news, the most-traded continuous contract of silicon metal fluctuated upward, oscillating around 8,050-8,450 yuan/mt during the week. Silicon enterprises were more active in shipping goods to futures-to-spot traders, and the in-plant inventory of Xinjiang factories continued to destock.

The weekly production of sample silicon enterprises in north-west China was 10,510 mt, with a weekly operating rate of 74%, unchanged WoW. The statistical scope for north-west China includes Qinghai, Ningxia, and Gansu. The operating conditions of sample silicon enterprises were basically stable. With the spot market strengthening, silicon enterprises' quotes also increased synchronously during the week.

The weekly production of sample silicon enterprises in Yunnan was 3,610 mt, with a weekly operating rate of 33%, increasing WoW. Silicon enterprises that started production during the rainy season in July gradually released their output. In early July, more than 20 furnaces resumed production in Yunnan, and a small number of silicon furnaces had production resumption plans within the month. Recently, the operating rate of silicon metal in Yunnan has maintained an increasing trend, but it is still much lower than that of the same period last year.

The weekly production of sample silicon enterprises in Sichuan was 5,930 mt, with a weekly operating rate of 51%, remaining stable WoW. The reason for sample selection is that the sample operating rate is higher than the regional operating rate, and the operating rates of sample silicon enterprises were basically stable during the week.
