Guangzhou Remote New Energy Commercial Vehicle Company was unveiled and established, with the first batch of vehicles rolling off the production line, marking a new chapter in the methanol-hydrogen strategy.

On July 4, 2025, Guangzhou Remote New Energy Commercial Vehicle Co., Ltd. was officially inaugurated and held the first batch of vehicle roll-off and delivery ceremony. Pan Zhijun, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Baiyun District Committee and District Mayor of Guangzhou, Qin Haining, Chairman of Guangzhou Public Transport Group, and Fan Xianjun, CEO of Remote New Energy Commercial Vehicle Group, along with other government and industry representatives, jointly witnessed this significant moment.

As a strategic fulcrum for Remote New Energy Commercial Vehicle Group to deeply cultivate the South China market, the establishment of Guangzhou Remote is the result of the cooperation agreement signed with the Baiyun District Government in August 2024. Both parties will fully promote the comprehensive new energy transition of vehicles in public sectors such as buses, taxis, sanitation, and logistics distribution, and jointly build a demonstration zone for the promotion and application of methanol-hydrogen electric vehicles56. At the event site, Guangzhou Remote signed agreements with three enterprises: Guangzhou Hongtu Logistics, Changyun Group, and Baogong Logistics, to support the transformation of green logistics.

In recent years, Guangzhou has aimed to become a "demonstration city for green and smart transportation" and has introduced policies such as the "New Energy Vehicle Industry Development Plan (2023-2030)", focusing on supporting the application of new energy commercial vehicles in logistics, public transportation, and other fields. It has also actively promoted the development of the hydrogen energy industry and constructed a "12218" modern industrial system69. Leveraging its technological advantages in "methanol-hydrogen + electric", Remote plans to promote methanol-hydrogen electric refrigerated trucks, municipal engineering vehicles, and other car models in Guangzhou, while simultaneously advancing the construction of an ecological chain for green methanol production and methanol refueling, creating an application model of the "Guangzhou Model".

Methanol, as a liquid "hydrogen" and liquid "electricity", has a strong hydrogen storage capacity (1 cubic meter of methanol contains 148.3kg of hydrogen, which is 2.1 times that of liquid hydrogen) and can be synthesized through green electricity, making it an ideal green energy source612. Remote's technological route aligns highly with Guangzhou's plan for the simultaneous development of pure electric and hydrogen energy. In the future, it will use Guangzhou as a fulcrum to radiate throughout the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, construct a full-value-chain ecological system, and support Guangzhou's green transportation construction.
