On July 1, a delegation led by Feng Renjun, Chairman of Kaixue Cold Chain, visited Hydrogen Power Technology. The two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on expanding cooperation in the hydrogen energy transportation sector. Hydrogen Power Technology provided a detailed introduction to its full-chain layout in the hydrogen energy zero-carbon transportation sector (covering hydrogen production, storage and transportation, vehicle R&D, and operations), and proposed jointly building a "battery-grade lithium hydroxide and hydrogen energy transportation system" with Kaixue Cold Chain to expand application scenarios in cold chain and logistics. Based on its "leading" position in cold chain technology (a single champion enterprise in the manufacturing industry of Henan Province), Kaixue Cold Chain proposed deepening the R&D and scenario implementation of hydrogen-powered refrigerated trucks. Both sides agreed to accelerate the iteration of hydrogen-powered cold chain car models and the promotion of demonstration lines, driving the transformation of green transportation through technological collaboration. Prior to the meeting, the two sides jointly visited Hydrogen Power Technology's hydrogen energy exhibition hall to gain a firsthand understanding of the application achievements of hydrogen energy technology.
This cooperation is a typical case of the deepened application of hydrogen energy in vertical scenarios. As a leader in cold chain equipment (having jointly delivered 251 hydrogen-powered refrigerated trucks with Zhenjiang Feichi), Kaixue Cold Chain's patented technologies, such as "hydrogen system layout that does not occupy cargo space," complement Hydrogen Power Technology's "Pearl River Delta - Western Guangdong Hydrogen Energy Cold Chain Demonstration Line" (to be launched in June 2025). The former addresses technological pain points, while the latter validates business models, jointly solving industry challenges such as short driving range and slow charging of traditional electric cold chain trucks. Notably, the cooperation between the two sides not only focuses on car model R&D but also emphasizes the construction of a "battery-grade lithium hydroxide and hydrogen energy transportation system." By "driving industries through scenarios," it integrates the hydrogen energy storage and transportation network with cold chain logistics demands, providing zero-carbon solutions for high-energy-consuming and long-distance transportation scenarios. This not only aligns with the hydrogen energy project application direction of the National Energy Administration in 2025 but also offers a replicable "Hydrogen Power sample" for the logistics industry upgrade under the "dual carbon" goals. With the improvement of hydrogen energy infrastructure, the cold chain sector may become another core track for hydrogen energy transportation applications, following commercial vehicles.
