With the rapid development of electric vehicles (EVs) globally, batteries, as a critical energy storage device, are gradually becoming an indispensable part of people's daily lives. However, the production and recycling of batteries have brought severe negative impacts on the environment, with issues such as resource waste and pollution becoming increasingly prominent. To address this challenge, governments, enterprises, and research institutions worldwide have intensified their efforts to promote battery recycling and reuse.

Global lead-acid battery recycling situation: Lead-acid batteries have long been widely used in areas such as automobiles and UPS, with a relatively high recycling rate. However, due to the presence of hazardous substances in lead-acid batteries, improper handling can cause severe harm to the environment and human health. Therefore, governments worldwide have introduced policies to support the recycling and reuse of lead-acid batteries, while strengthening regulatory efforts to encourage enterprises and the public to actively participate. Global lithium battery recycling situation: Compared with lead-acid batteries, the recycling rate of lithium batteries is relatively low. However, due to the presence of rare metals and other resources, their value is high. To promote the recycling of lithium batteries, policies regarding their recycling and reuse have gradually become stricter. Enterprises in the relevant industry chains worldwide are also actively researching and developing new recycling technologies and processes to promote the sustainable development of lithium batteries.

Against this backdrop, the GBRC 2025SMM Battery Recycling and Circular Industry Conferencecame into being, aiming to promote global exchange and cooperation in battery recycling and reuse, drive innovation and development in related technologies, jointly address environmental issues arising from the repeated use of batteries, and contribute to the sustainable development of the clean energy industry.

At this conference,Xuzhou Baoshi Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd. will attend as a sponsor, engaging in in-depth discussions with colleagues from upstream and downstream of the battery recycling industry on the pain points and challenges of industry development, jointly exploring business opportunities for win-win cooperation, and discussing ways to promote high-quality development of the industry.

Lead Prices Stagnant, Smelters Maintain Firm Offers Amid Losses
Lead prices were in the doldrums, while secondary lead smelters maintained firm offers due to losses. The mainstream spot order ex-factory prices including tax narrowed the discount to the SMM #1 lead average price by 100 yuan/mt, shifting to a premium of 0–25 yuan/mt, with some smelters halting offers and sales.

Pre-holiday stockpiling by downstream enterprises had largely concluded, and a few had already entered the holiday period, completely suspending procurement. Next week, secondary lead smelters will enter a concentrated wave of production halts and holidays, resulting in sluggish trading activity in the spot market. Offers for spot refined lead orders were sparse, with prices moving in line with the market.

Sluggish Transactions in Domestic Secondary Crude Lead Market, Prices at 15,250-15,400 Yuan/mt
The domestic secondary crude lead market experienced sluggish transactions. As of February 6, 2026, the ex-factory tax-exclusive offers for domestic secondary crude lead stood at 15,250-15,400 yuan/mt. Downstream refined lead and alloy smelters gradually entered the holiday period, showing weak stockpiling willingness. Overseas lead ingot suppliers basically halted transactions with China due to poor consumption in the Chinese market, with only some previously concluded shipments maintaining normal in-transit transportation. The trading atmosphere in the secondary crude lead market will continue to weaken next week.
