In March 2021, Huicheng New Materials put into operation a production line independently designed by the company, which can utilize manganese sulfide slag to produce precursor materials for cathode materials of power batteries for NEVs. This production line was recognized by the manganese industry as "the world's first production line utilizing manganese sulfide slag to produce power battery materials." Dong Xiongwen stated that the production line can process approximately 200 mt of manganese sulfide slag per day, yielding about 20 mt of manganese metal content and 1 mt of nickel-cobalt metal content. During the production process, raw material costs were reduced by 22%, electricity consumption by 90%, and water consumption by 50%, effectively conserving land resources and reducing environmental pollution risks.
