Chinese solar panel manufacturer LONGi announced the launch of a strategic project in collaboration with a subsidiary of Indonesia's state-owned energy company Pertamina to establish a solar panel manufacturing facility in Indonesia with an annual capacity of 1.6 gigawatts. Pertamina stated in its announcement that the project's annual capacity would be 1.4 gigawatts, which would significantly enhance Indonesia's existing peak annual capacity of 1.6 gigawatts. Located in the Deltamas Industrial Zone in West Java, the factory will utilize LONGi's Hybrid Passivated Back Contact (HPBC) 2.0 technology. The collaboration with Pertamina New and Renewable Energy aims to strengthen Indonesia's renewable energy supply chain and meet the growing demand for PV modules in Indonesia and the Southeast Asian market. The project will support Indonesia's development goal of adding 17.1 gigawatts of PV installations over the next decade.
