Green Hydrogen Project Tracking—Hopu Engineering Consortium Wins Bid for EPC General Contracting of China Three Gorges Renewables (Group) Co., Ltd.'s Beihai Green Electricity Hydrogen Production Demonstration Project

Recently, Houpu Clean Energy Group Engineering Technology Co., Ltd. has achieved another success following its successful bid for the Bachu Distributed PV Hydrogen Production, Storage, and Refueling Integrated Project in Xinjiang not long ago. The consortium, comprising Houpu Clean Energy Group Engineering Technology Co., Ltd., Shanghai Investigation, Design & Research Institute Co., Ltd., Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and Shanghai Hydrogen Luan Technology Co., Ltd., has successfully won the bid for the EPC general contracting project of the Three Gorges Energy Beihai Green Electricity Hydrogen Production Research and Demonstration Project. Meanwhile, the project construction will utilize hydrogen production and refueling equipment from Houpu's subsidiary, further highlighting Houpu's industry chain synergy capabilities and integration advantages in the hydrogen energy sector.

The Three Gorges Energy Beihai Green Electricity Hydrogen Production Demonstration Project is located in the Beihai Service Area, Beihai City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, approximately 15 kilometers from the city center, covering an area of about 142 mu. It is a comprehensive demonstration project integrating green power generation, hydrogen production, hydrogen storage, hydrogen refueling, and transportation applications. The project consists of three core systems: a distributed PV+ESS new energy power supply system (PV+ESS power supply system), a megawatt-class off-grid AEM water electrolysis hydrogen production system (AEM hydrogen production system), and a transportation-energy integration application demonstration project (transportation-energy integration demonstration). The implementation of this project will assist Beihai City in achieving a green energy transformation, promoting the construction of the hydrogen energy industry chain and the localisation of key technologies, and enhancing the demonstration effect of regional green energy.

The winning consortium is not only fully responsible for the project's survey and design, equipment and material procurement (including hydrogen-powered vehicles), construction and installation, commissioning and acceptance, digital display platform construction, implementation of scientific research tasks, and related services during the warranty period, but will also undertake the R&D tasks for megawatt-class off-grid AEM water electrolysis hydrogen production technology. Additionally, it will build a fully functional, demonstrable, and replicable transportation-energy integration demonstration project, laying a solid foundation for subsequent large-scale promotion.
