







On May 30, the PV power supply side of the Guangdong Hydropower Bachu County 5 MW Distributed PV Hydrogen Production, Storage, and Refueling Integrated (Pilot Demonstration) Project, invested and constructed by Yue Shuidian Energy Group, a subsidiary of Guangdong Hydropower No.2 Engineering Bureau, was successfully connected to the grid. This project is the first integrated PV hydrogen production, storage, and refueling project invested and constructed by a Guangdong-province-owned enterprise providing aid to Xinjiang in the Kashgar region. It is also the first hydrogen energy entire industry chain demonstration project in the Kashgar region that integrates "PV power generation - hydrogen production - hydrogen storage - hydrogen refueling," marking a significant breakthrough for Yue Shuidian Energy Group in exploring the new field of "PV + hydrogen energy" and providing a valuable practical sample for building a diversified clean energy system in the Kashgar region.
The project is located within the Bachu County New Energy Industrial Base in the Kashgar region of Xinjiang. Construction officially commenced in April 2025. It innovatively adopts advanced zero-carbon-emission PV hydrogen production technology, aiming to create a benchmark project for green energy demonstration. The overall construction of the project includes a 5 MW PV power plant and a supporting hydrogen production plant. The PV power plant utilizes 9,932 high-efficiency 545Wp monocrystalline silicon bifacial modules, achieving efficient conversion of solar energy through scientific arrangement. The hydrogen production plant is equipped with core facilities such as water electrolysis hydrogen production and hydrogen storage equipment, establishing a complete green hydrogen production and storage system. Currently, the first batch of the PV power supply side of the project has been successfully connected to the grid, and the grid connection work on the hydrogen production side is progressing in an orderly manner, laying a solid foundation for subsequent full-process green hydrogen production.
After the project becomes operational, based on an estimated 8-hour stable daily operation, it can achieve a daily hydrogen production capacity of 432 kg. It is expected to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 222.59 mt and sulfur dioxide emissions by 5.15 mt annually, with its environmental protection benefits equivalent to planting 14,800 new ecological trees in the southern Xinjiang region. Through clear quantitative indicators of environmental benefits, a sustainable hydrogen energy industry demonstration path has been established, injecting innovative momentum into the green and low-carbon transformation of the southern Xinjiang region.
