South Korean Battery Giants to Establish LFP Battery Lines in US Joint Ventures

[Lithium Battery: Two Major South Korean Battery Giants to Build New LFP Battery Production Lines in the US!] On May 29, Samsung SDI reached an agreement with General Motors, planning to add a new production line for LFP batteries for EVs at their joint venture factory in Indiana in 2027. Previously, the factory was only planned to produce NCM batteries with a nickel content exceeding 80%, but will now implement parallel production. In addition, LGES also plans to convert part of its joint venture factory with General Motors in Tennessee into a production line for LFP batteries. Currently, the factory is expected to be completed in 2024 and will only have a production line for NCM batteries.
