







The 300,000 mt/year Green Methanol Project of Lanze Energy in Dafeng Port is a major technological breakthrough project in the field of green energy both domestically and overseas. Below are the project details:
Project Entity
Jiangsu Lanze Energy Technology Co., Ltd. is the construction entity of this project. The company is a green energy technology and industry enterprise jointly established by the research team led by Professor Sun Yuhan from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Shanghai Alliance Investment, the National Green Development Fund, Lu'an Chemical Group, and other research teams, technology investment firms, and energy industry groups.
Investment Amount
The total investment in the project is 2.25 billion yuan.
Product Capacity
Upon completion, the project will have a production capacity of 300,000 mt of green methanol per year.
Project Location
It is located in the Petrochemical Industrial Park of Dafeng Port District, Yancheng City, Jiangsu Province.
Project Development History
On July 12, 2023, Lanze Energy signed a tripartite cooperation agreement with Dafeng Port District and Yueda Group, reaching a consensus on advancing the 500,000 mt biomass-based green methanol aviation fuel project and the 600,000 m³ green ammonia storage tank base project.
In September 2023, Lanze Energy settled in Dafeng.
On November 20, 2023, Li Zhijun, Secretary of the Dafeng District Committee of Yancheng City, issued the "commencement order" at the site of Lanze Energy's 300,000 mt/year green methanol project in the Economic Development Zone of Dafeng Port, Jiangsu Province.
On February 28, 2024, the Expert Review Meeting for the Feasibility Study Report of Lanze's 300,000 mt Green Methanol Project in Dafeng Port, hosted by Jiangsu Lanze Energy Technology Co., Ltd., was successfully held.
On May 17, 2024, the first public announcement of the project's environmental impact assessment was made.
On November 7, 2024, the project received approval for enterprise investment project registration.
On May 25, 2025, the general layout and transportation section of the project officially commenced construction.
Project Technology and Construction Content
The project utilizes agricultural waste as raw material, adopting green methanol production technology with proprietary intellectual property rights and a series of high-level catalysts. It has innovatively developed biomass gasification production units and green methanol production units, utilizing green electricity throughout the entire process. The main construction content of the project includes biomass gasification units, biomass storage and transportation, biomass pretreatment, gas purification units, methanol units, and supporting utilities, among others.
Project Significance
Upon completion, the project will become Lanze Energy's first green fuel industrial base. As a benchmark green methanol leading project both domestically and overseas, it will comprehensively promote the development of China's green energy industry.
