The Changchun New Energy Hydrogen-based Chemical Comprehensive Utilisation Integrated Project is invested and constructed by Changchun Longyuan New Energy Co., Ltd., with a total investment of 3,520.8247 million yuan. The construction content of the project mainly includes hydrogen production facilities with a total hydrogen production capacity of 64,000 Nm³/h and one set of 180,000 mt/year synthetic ammonia plant, enabling an annual production capacity of 24,000 mt of hydrogen and 120,000 mt of ammonia.
The project's development history can be traced back to March 10, 2025, when it was first filed. The filing information at that time indicated that the project site was located in the Changchun Beihu Fine Chemicals and New Materials Industry Demonstration Park, with a project land area of 220,000 m². The construction content included 80 sets of alkaline electrolyzers with a hydrogen production capacity of 1,000 Nm³/h and 20 sets of PEM electrolyzers with a hydrogen production capacity of 200 Nm³/h, resulting in a total hydrogen production capacity of 84,000 Nm³/h and an annual hydrogen production capacity of 35,000 mt. However, subsequent adjustments were made to the project's construction content and scale, with the final version approved on May 22, 2025, taking precedence.
Currently, the project is expected to officially commence construction in August 2025 and is scheduled for completion by December 2026. Upon completion, the project will contribute to the advancement of the new energy hydrogen-based chemical industry in the Changchun region, enhancing local energy utilisation efficiency and the greening level of the chemical industry, which is of great significance for promoting the sustainable development of the regional economy.
