World crude steel production fell by 0.3% YoY in April

According to the World Steel Association's statistics on 69 member countries, global crude steel production in April was 155.7 million mt, a 0.3% YoY decrease.

China, the world's largest crude steel producer, had a production of 86 million mt in April, basically flat YoY.

Among other Asian countries, India's production was 12.9 million mt, up 5.6% YoY. Japan's production was 6.6 million mt, down 6.4% YoY. South Korea's production was 5 million mt, down 2.5% YoY. Iran's production was 3.3 million mt, up 4.6% YoY.

Turkey's production was 3 million mt, up 7.0% YoY.

The total production of the 27 EU member states was 11.1 million mt, down 2.6% YoY. Among them, Germany's production was 3 million mt, down 10.1% YoY.

Russia's production was 5.8 million mt, down 5.1% YoY.

The US's production was 6.6 million mt, down 0.3% YoY.

Brazil's production was 2.6 million mt, down 3.1% YoY.
