Tembo Nickel Limited, a joint venture between Lifezone Metals and the Tanzanian government, is expected to commence construction of the Kabanga nickel ore project in the Kagera region this October, marking a significant step forward in Tanzania's mining industry. During a meeting with Anthony Mavunde, the Minister of Minerals, Chief Executive Officer Chris Showalter reaffirmed the company's strong commitment to the project and announced plans to establish a domestic nickel refinery to enhance the added value of local minerals. The project aligns with the government's directive for all mining license holders to demonstrate project progress. Minister Mavunde commended this initiative, describing it as a transformative strategic investment with the potential to drive the country's economic development. He also called upon all licensed mining companies to expedite the initiation of their projects and advance their implementation in compliance with laws and regulations.
