Mexico Initiates Second Sunset Review of Anti-Dumping Measures on Chinese Stainless Steel Sinks

[SMM Flash News] SMM reported on May 15, 2025, that on May 8, 2025, the Mexican Ministry of Economy issued a notice stating that, in response to the applications from Mexican enterprises Cocinas Modulares, S.A. de C.V. and E.B. Técnica Mexicana, S.A. de C.V., it had initiated the second sunset review investigation into anti-dumping measures on stainless steel sinks (weighing no more than 8 kg) (Spanish: fregaderos de acero inoxidable) originating in China. The dumping investigation period for this case was from April 1, 2024, to March 31, 2025, and the injury investigation period was from April 1, 2020, to March 31, 2025. The TIGIE tariff code for the products involved was 7324.10.01. During the investigation period of the case, the existing anti-dumping duties remained in effect. The notice took effect the day after its release. On March 14, 2014, Mexico initiated an anti-dumping investigation into stainless steel sinks (weighing no more than 8 kg) originating in China. On May 8, 2015, Mexico issued an affirmative final ruling in this case and began imposing anti-dumping duties on Chinese producers/exporters. Specifically, the duty rate was $4.14/kg for Taizhou Luqiao Jixiang Kitchenware Co., Ltd. and $5.40/kg for other Chinese producers/exporters. Subsequently, Mexico conducted one sunset review and issued an affirmative ruling on June 7, 2021, extending the tax collection period.
