SMM Flash News: High-Grade NPI Prices Stable with Minor Index Declines on May 13

[SMM Flash News] As of May 13, SMM reported that the price range for SMM 10-12% high-grade NPI (ex-factory) was 937-948 yuan/mtu, with the average price unchanged from the previous working day and at a premium of 2.5 yuan/mtu over SMM 8-10% high-grade NPI (ex-factory). The price range for SMM 10-12% Indonesian high-grade NPI (CIF, tax included) was 937-950 yuan/mtu, with the average price unchanged from the previous working day and at a discount of 5 yuan/mtu compared to SMM 12-14% Indonesian high-grade NPI (CIF, tax included). The SMM high-grade NPI index was quoted at 946.5 yuan/mtu on the day, down 0.06 yuan/mtu from the previous working day, representing a 0.01% decline MoM from the previous working day. The SMM low-carbon high-grade NPI index was quoted at 953.7 yuan/mtu on the day, down 0.1 yuan/mtu from the previous working day.

[SMM Daily Review of Indonesia's Nickel Ores] Prices of Indonesia's pyrometallurgical and hydrometallurgical laterite nickel ores continue to diverge

This week, the mainstream premium for Indonesia's local laterite nickel ore remained at $26-30/wmt. In terms of ore used for pyrometallurgy prices, the SMM delivery-to-factory price for 1.6% Indonesia's local laterite nickel ore was $52.6-56.6/wmt, up $1 from last week, representing an increase of approximately 1.87% YoY. For ore used for hydrometallurgy prices, the SMM delivery-to-factory price for 1.3% Indonesia's local laterite nickel ore decreased to $23-25/wmt, down $2 from the same period last year, marking a decline of 7.69% YoY.
